Hi everyone,

First of all, a huge thank you to the Scavenger team and all contributors for the original files. The work behind this project is seriously impressive and it made it possible for people like me to even attempt this build.

I have started modifying the original files to make them work better with metric material thicknesses. The goal was to adapt the openings and interfaces so they match commonly available sheet stock in millimeters.

Here is what was changed so far:

0.04' => 1 mm
0.125' => 3 mm
0.375' => 9 mm
0.5' 12 mm

For the 0.125' → 3 mm conversion in particular, I reduced the openings to 3 mm. This likely means a bit of sanding will be required, but the idea is to get a tighter and more accurate fit instead of loose parts.

One important detail:
I did not modify the ribs, since their openings are already in metric and did not require any adjustment.

.dxf files :
scav_skirt_donut_9mm.dxf
(120.23 KiB) Downloaded 13 times
scav_skirt_12ribs_12mm.dxf

scav_skirt_3mm.dxf
(454.07 KiB) Downloaded 11 times
scav_skirt_1mm.dxf

Important disclaimer:
These files have not been physically tested yet. I still need to print a first test piece in ABS to validate the fit. What I am sharing here is a V1 WIP so people can review, comment, and possibly catch mistakes early.

I am not an expert and I am only just starting to really use Fusion 360, so there may absolutely be errors or things I misunderstood in the original geometry. If anyone spots something that looks wrong or alarming at first glance, I would really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks again to the Scavenger team for the original design, and thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to look at this and give feedback. :D

Okay, I forgot to update some parts, some parts will protrude.

As mentionned, still in WIP :D

scav_skirt_3mm has been updated and is now fully metric (3 mm and 9 mm inserts).
scav_skirt_1mm has been updated and is now fully metric (the height was adjusted to compensate for the loss of material).

About the 1 mm skirt parts:

The donut parts are now slightly thinner:
• Big donut: from 9.525 mm to 9 mm (0.375' = 9.525 mm) → 0.525 mm thinner
• Small donut: from 3.175 mm to 3 mm (0.125' = 3.175 mm) → 0.175 mm thinner

This results in a total thickness loss of:
0.525 mm + 0.175 mm = 0.7 mm

To compensate, I increased the height of the 1 mm skirt part by half of this loss:
0.7 mm / 2 = +0.35 mm

The files have been updated. I still need to print a new test version and verify everything.

I think the skirt is now finished and ready for testing.
